#ArmchairBEA 2016: Surviving Fictional Worlds

Today we’ll talk about surviving fictional worlds. We all know that sometimes, the worlds we love in fiction can be dangerous. Which fictional worlds would you want to live in? Which worlds do you never want to dive into? Which worlds are you content to stay behind the glass, so to speak, rather than wishing to dive through the page? And once you get there, what would you do?

I would definitely want to live in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!

and visit the Eeylops Owl Emporium to get an owl, and go to the Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour, and buy stuff at Flourish & Blotts, Obscurus Books, Scribbulus Everchanging Inks, and of course I would have to visit Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes!

Or I would want to visit Wonderland, or Fairyland (from The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making), or Atlantis, Neverland, Narnia, The Shire, Halloweentown, or Whoville!

I would not want to go to any of the dystopian worlds like in The Hunger Games or Divergent.  I am not a survivor.  I have enough trouble in my cushy upper middle class first world life, there is no way I would survive any kind of dystopian chaos.

  1. I definitely would stay away from dystopian universes, but any of the fantasy one would be fantastic. I’d love to live in the wizarding world, as long as it’s not during Voldemort’s reign!
