Board Game Bento is a monthly subscription box that sends you at least $80 (for only $57 with shipping) worth of board games and accessories each month straight to your door! It is like getting a birthday gift in the mail every month. April was my first box, and the theme was showdown! Here is a peeky-poo at what was inside the box!
This box included Sentinel Tactics The Flame of Freedom Board Game, which did not fit in the box, so they unwrapped it, and included all the pieces in the Sentinel Tactics Uprising Expansion.
Sentinel Tactics: The Flame of Freedom is the hex-grid based tactical combat game set in the world of Sentinel Comics! Go head-to-head in skirmish play, or experience the stories by playing through the included Scenario Books! The Flame of Freedom, which takes the players through the Freedom Five’s interactions with their long-lost ally, Ra, and includes the heroes Legacy, Bunker, Tachyon, The Wraith, Absolute Zero, and Ra, as well as the villains Baron Blade, Omnitron-V, and Citizen Dawn. The game uses a hex grid map to represent terrain. Each player controls one or more heroes or villains, each of which has unique powers. Combat is based on the rolling of six-sided dice. Whereas Sentinels of the Multiverse is a fully cooperative game, Sentinel Tactics is a team-based game. Groups of players will cooperate against either a villain player or against another team of players, so while the game is competitive, cooperation and teamwork are still vital to the gameplay. Sentinel Tactics: Uprising includes 6 new characters, environment elements for both environments from Sentinel Tactics: The Flame of Freedom, and a scenario book with scenarios which revolve around the new characters, bringing them into the ongoing storyline of Sentinel Comics! The scenarios involve comic-book style stories, map setups, and scenario specific tokens, powers, and even side characters!. (according to Amazon)
I’ve never heard of this game, but it looks really fun! I’m excited to try it out!
Alien Wars is a fast, card-tossing game where your goal is to become Master of the Galaxy. Remember where you put your aliens and try to throw your cards to eliminate enemy aliens. Alien Wars is a droll game for anyone, combining skill, tactics, and memory. (according to Amazon.)
