TBT Review: Dreamwalker (Persephone’s League of Immortals #1) by Andrea Heltsley

Published March 17, 2016 by Kattie Sivley

TBTI had a different book blog, and I had a bunch of problems with the blog hosting company, and all of my content was deleted.  I managed to salvage some of my reviews from back then by compiling what  I wrote on Goodreads, Amazon, and Barnes and Nobles review sections.  I will be posting these reviews under a new blog post called Throw Back Thursday Reviews, until I have posted them all on this blog. 🙂 See some that I have already posted here.

Goodreads Summary:

Noel Kennedy lost her boyfriend, her job, and her dignity all in one week and then gained an entirely new life. Hunted by a mysterious league of immortals, Noel must rediscover her forgotten past while uncovering the truth behind the two men who battle for her heart, both in dreams and in reality.

Entranced, she slowly unravels a world she was meant to stay out of, one filled with creatures she once thought to be myth and dangers that threaten her very soul. Now Noel begins the fight for her life and must choose between two men who call to her heart. Can she escape a life of servitude or immortality for a chance at love?

My Thoughts:

Noel Kennedy’s boyfriend breaks up with her at the very beginning of this book, and SHE LOSES IT! She stays locked in her apartment, not talking to anyone or going to work. I hated her at first. What kind of person acts like that for so long after a break up? Not a death or anything, just some jack ass leaving you (well Bella from Twilight, but who really?) GRRRRRRRRRR Of course, she loses her job because she hasn’t been to work in forever. I was glad about that, because otherwise the book would not have been believable. She starts having dreams about a guy she has never met, but feels like the dream meant something, because it was like her soul knew him. She ends up seeing him in the street, and knows that her soul is connected to this man. It turns out Noel is a Dreamwalker, as is Jared, which is why they connect through the dreams. An entire world she didn’t know about or believe in full of paranormal things and magic, starts opening up to her. Persephone, Queen of the Underworld, wants Noel, and many other candidates to become immortal. There is a lot of drama involved with Noel trying to escape this fate, trying to figure out who to trust, and her feelings for Jared, and his sexy partner Boone (who are both in love with her). The romance/sex is not very detailed or steamy so I would rate this book PG13 at the highest. Overall I liked this book!
