Top Ten Tuesday — Favorite Book Characters

booksThanks to the Broke and the Bookish for starting Top Ten Tuesdays. Here are my top ten favorite book characters.

1. Alice of Wonderland – “I can’t go back to yesterday because I was a different person then.”
2. Albus Dumbledore of Harry Potter –  “Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?”
3. Katniss Everdeen of Hunger Games – “My spirit. This is a new thought. I’m not sure exactly what it means, but it suggests I’m a fighter. In a sort of brave way. It’s not as if I’m never friendly. Okay, maybe I don’t go around loving everybody I meet, maybe my smiles are hard to come by, but i do care for some people.”
4. Hermione Granger of Harry Potter – “I hope you’re pleased with yourselves. We could have been all killed — or worse, expelled.”
5. Arnold Spirit (Junior) of The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian – “I think all of us are always five years old in the presence and absence of our parents.”
6. Winnie the Pooh – “Sometimes,’ said Pooh, ‘the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”
7. Cyd Charisse of Gingerbread (not the later books) – “I will be as wild as I wanna be.”
8. Violet Baudelaire of A Series of Unfortunate Events – “There’s always something. ”
9.  Max of Where the Wild Things Are – “Let the wild rumpus start!”
10. Lemony Snicket narrator of A Series of Unfortunate Events – “Wicked people never have time for reading. It’s one of the reasons for their wickedness.”
